Tech week (the week where we get all the tech bells and whistles in order) is next week, followed by show week (final dress rehearsals and then performing the show), so here are some things to keep in mind going in!
1. Know your part
This includes lines obviously but also any choreography (workshops are today 3/31/2023 after school and tomorrow 4/1/2023 from 10 AM to 2 PM), any blocking, your props, if you need to take anything on or off set, etc.
If you are unsure on something involving blocking or line delivery, ask Clark. Choreo question? McGowan. Tech-based question? Kooper. At this point you don't have an excuse to be not knowing things- If you don't know or are unsure on something you need to ask because the show is in two weeks.
2. Show up to rehearsals
While obviously life happens and accommodations can be made for extenuating circumstances that may prevent you from going to some rehearsals, everyone needs to be showing up to rehearsal as much as they possibly can. We can't really afford a bunch of lost time re-teaching stuff just because you didn't feel like going one day.
3. Stay healthy
Eat. Sleep. Drink lots of fluids. The usual. Please do not sacrifice your health for the show, it's not that dire. Everyone needs to be on their A game coming up and you won't be on your A game if you're hungry, tired, and dehydrated.
On that note, try to keep up with your classes as well.
4. HAVE FUN
As heavy-handed as I'm sure some of this was, please remember to let yourself have fun. While yes, you shouldn't be talking in the wings and you need to stay focused, there is plenty of opportunity to stay entertained on and off the stage, whether it be a new take on the delivery of a line or mouthing along the words to the number your cast mates are performing
Break a leg (unless you're accident prone, then I probably shouldn't say that)
